Your new role as a Validation & Verification Engineer involves joining a busy flight software team responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of embedded real-time software used in orbital debris missions. You will be involved in reviewing technical specifications, designing and implementing automated test cases, and supporting the development of test environments and simulators. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to collaborate across subsystems and contribute to global knowledge-sharing initiatives.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Strong experience designing test cases for critical software
- Hands-on experience implementing automated test scripts
- Proficient in Python, including dependency management and virtual environments
- Experience with software validation facilities (numerical, hybrid, or hardware)
- Familiarity with Git
- Experience in validation and verification of software for the space industry
- Experience with real-time embedded systems (C/C++)
- Understanding of communication protocols such as PUS, CCSDS, CAN, SpaceWire
- Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of ECSS standards (especially ECSS-E-ST-40C)
- Proactive and self-managing, with strong collaboration skills
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with VxWorks or RTEMS platforms
- Background in space industry software development
- CI/CD pipeline experience
- Familiarity with UML and model-based design
- Knowledge of cFS software framework
- Experience with SPARC V8 or PowerPC architecture
- Linux system administration and shell scripting
- Development of QT-based interactive software applications
- Experience across the full mission lifecycle from concept to operations
