HAYS are delighted to be working with Birmingham City Council on the recruitment of a highly skilled and experienced Job Evaluation Lead to spearhead a critical job evaluation project specifically focused on schools. This role is pivotal in ensuring that job roles within our educational institutions are evaluated accurately and fairly, aligning with our commitment to excellence in education and staff welfare. This role will allow the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant impact on the education sector within Birmingham.

This role is paying between £400-£600 per day (inside IR35), and will be based on site one day per week in Birmingham.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Lead and manage the job evaluation project for schools within Birmingham City Council.
  • Conduct comprehensive job evaluations, ensuring consistency and fairness across all roles.
  • Collaborate with school leaders, HR teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and insights.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on job evaluation methodologies and best practices.
  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks and tools tailored to the needs of the schools.
  • Prepare detailed reports and present findings to senior management and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies.

In order to be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in job evaluation, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of job evaluation methodologies and frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a project from start to finish.
