This vacancy is for a leading provider of innovative IT solutions and services for the education sector, working with schools and academies to enhance teaching and learning through technology. They focus on providing tailored solutions to schools and academies, empowering students and academic staff, supporting with managed IT support, cloud services and new classroom technologies. They have an excellent reputation for being a reliable expert in this field, currently supporting over 100 primary schools across the North West with long-term partnerships. This particular IT Engineer job will report to the IT Service Director and will be based in Manchester, where you have your own schools that you will support on a daily basis.
Your new role
As an IT Engineer working for this reputable Managed Service Provider, you will become an integral part of a well-established team, working alongside experienced colleagues who will support you upon you joining the business. This role will be based on site 5 days a week, where you will be supporting schools & academies in Greater Manchester – predominantly inside the M60 and East Manchester. When visiting a school, you will be fully accountable for the IT provision on site, providing support with both hardware and software, as well as supporting with bespoke educational technologies to ensure all systems are working efficiently. You will also work with the academic staff to ensure they are kept up to date on the use of IT equipment and that any service issues or requests are resolved efficiently. In addition, as you will be working as part of a wider team of IT Field Engineers, you will also support the delivery of IT projects across schools and academies. Please note that this role is based on site 5 days a week, and it is essential that you have a UK driving licence and your own vehicle.
What you\’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant IT support experience and will ideally have experience either working for an MSP or in the education sector supporting a school or college. You will have knowledge of Microsoft 365, as well as experience supporting with hardware and software and will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Furthermore, you must possess a UK driving licence and your own vehicle.
