Your new company is a public sector organisation in Ipswich undergoing large-scale organisational change and moving to new unitary councils. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something genuinely impactful, helping to shape how HR services are delivered in the future.

Your new role is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll take ownership of HR operations while contributing to wider change initiatives. As an experienced HR Manager, you'll lead a broad range of operational and advisory HR activities and work closely with the Employee Relations Manager.

You will:

  • Lead key HR functions including HR administration, payroll/HRIS, and learning & development
  • Act as a trusted advisor on HR and employment law matters
  • Support and guide complex employee relations cases
  • Drive improvements in HR processes, systems, and service delivery
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation
  • Support organisational change, including restructures and transformation activities

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Confident and credible HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • CIPD Level 5 (or above)
  • Strong generalist HR experience including TUPE and organisational change
  • Experience leading or developing teams
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and working with trade unions
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset

This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in a major transformation programme, leading and influencing across core HR functions while working closely with senior stakeholders. You’ll have the chance to shape processes, systems, and service delivery, gaining exposure to large-scale organisational change within a supportive and collaborative environment.
