Salary: Up to £42,500 + BenefitsAbout the RoleWe are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing Building Services team based in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects across the education and residential sectors, contributing to the delivery of innovative, efficient, and sustainable designs.
You will be involved in projects from initial concept through to completion, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems for building services projects, including: Lighting and emergency lightingPower distributionSmall power and containmentFire alarm and life safety systemsData and communications systemsProduce calculations, specifications, technical reports, and drawingsSupport projects through all RIBA design stagesUndertake site surveys, inspections, and client meetingsCoordinate designs with mechanical engineers, architects, and contractorsEnsure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, Building Regulations)Contribute to low-energy and sustainable design solutionsAbout YouDegree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Building Services EngineeringExperience in electrical design within the built environmentExposure to education and/or residential projects is advantageous.
