An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Officer to join a well-established Housing Association in the Highlands on a temporary basis. Based within the Income Team, this role offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting tenants and helping to sustain successful tenancies across a diverse housing portfolio. This is an immediate requirement, with the assignment expected to run until at least October, with strong potential for extension.
Your new role
- Managing a patch of tenants and providing a high-quality housing management service.
- Supporting tenants with rent accounts and maximising income collection.
- Monitoring rent arrears and taking appropriate action in line with policies and procedures.
- Advising tenants on payment options, benefits, and financial support available.
- Building positive relationships with tenants and delivering excellent customer service.
- Working closely with internal teams and external agencies to sustain tenancies and achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate records and case files.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation and best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within a Housing Officer, Income Officer, Tenancy Officer or similar social housing role.
- Experience managing rent arrears, tenancy-related issues, or income recovery caseloads.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
