We are seeking an experienced Interim Management / Project Accountant for a 6-month assignment based in Carlisle. This role will play a key part in analysing, understanding, and documenting how an internal operational system integrates with a newly implemented financial system. The primary objective is to build a robust knowledge base of system interactions while ensuring this expertise is effectively transferred across the business through training and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and document system integrations between internal operational systems and the financial platform
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and knowledge resources
- Train and support multiple users across the business to improve system understanding and usage
- Work closely with the Finance Department, IT team, and wider operational teams to gather insights and resolve system-related issues
- Support the business in managing day-to-day system challenges impacting finance and reporting
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of business reporting and monthly management accounts
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Proven experience in a similar interim, project, or management accounting role
- Strong systems expertise, with the ability to interrogate, challenge, and improve existing processes
- Experience supporting system implementations or integrations is highly desirable
- Commercially astute with a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and train stakeholders across different functions
