We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our public sector client. Based in Birmingham city centre, this role will work closely with senior leaders and managers across the organisation to deliver a high‑quality, strategic HR service that supports organisational objectives and public service delivery.
You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance across the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on workforce planning, organisational change, employee relations, and people strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with senior leaders to align people plans with organisational priorities
- Provide expert advice on complex employee relations matters, including performance, attendance, grievance and discipline
- Lead and support organisational change initiatives, including restructures and consultations
- Contribute to workforce planning, talent management and succession planning
- Use people data and insights to inform decision‑making and improve outcomes
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with employment legislation and public sector best practice
- Coach and develop managers to build confident and capable leadership
- Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and public sector HR environments
- Confidence in influencing and challenging at senior leadership level
- Experience of managing change and complex stakeholder relationships
- Analytical, solutions‑focused approach with strong communication skills
