Job Description

Interim Damp & Mould Surveyor, £300 – £350 p/day Inside IR35, 3-Month Contract Your new company Hays are working with a proactive local authority committed to maintaining and improving the quality of their housing stock. Their mission is to ensure safe, healthy, and comfortable living conditions for all residents. The local authority is currently seeking an experienced Damp and Mould Surveyor to join the team on an interim basis to address and mitigate issues related to damp and mould in their properties.

Your new role Conduct thorough surveys and inspections of housing stock to identify damp and mould issues. Diagnose the causes of damp and mould and recommend appropriate remedial actions. Prepare detailed reports and action plans for each property surveyed.

Liaise with tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues. Monitor and review the effectiveness of remedial work carried out. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and local authority standards.

What you'll need to succeed Proven experience in damp and mould surveying, preferably within a local authority or housing association. Strong knowledge of building construction, pathology, and remedial techniques. Excellent report writing and communication skills.

The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload. Relevant qualifications in building surveying or a related field. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
