Interim Building Surveyor job based in South Wales working on commercial property for a minimum of 6-months.
Your new organisation
My client is a public sector organisation that is looking for an experienced building surveyor to join the property team on an interim basis. They are currently restructuring the department and have recently increased their capital expenditure to address the backlog of maintenance across the commercial estate.
Your new role
You will be responsible for delivering professional property maintenance services to the organisation’s property portfolio, including schools and offices. You will ensure that the organisation’s asset management plan is fully informed with building and structural defects. You will develop schemes from the completed stock condition surveys and manage contractors from inception to the completion of the project.
What you will need to be successful
A degree in building surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent qualification such as an HND in surveying, at least five years of relevant experience in building surveying in a commercial property environment and preferably in the public sector. You will need excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team and in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices in property maintenance and asset management.
