An international and forward-thinking business services and consulting group are looking to recruit an Indirect Tax Manager to join their tax team at their office in Manchester. This is a well-established and highly respected organisation looking to bring in someone with strong technical knowledge and advisory experience of indirect tax to support their fast-paced group. This company also supports families, especially new parents, with enhanced paternity, maternity, and adoption schemes.
Your new role
As an Indirect Tax manager in the tax team, you will be responsible for managing the UK VAT returns and overseeing non-UK VAT, SST, and WHT submissions, whilst identifying tax optimisation opportunities, and evaluating and managing any potential tax risks. You will also communicate VAT issues to non-specialists and provide indirect tax advice and support.
Key responsibilities are detailed below:
- Manage the accurate and timely submission of VAT returns for UK entities.
- Oversee the submission of VAT, SST, and WHT through local third-party accountants/providers for non-UK entities.
- Liaise directly with local third-party accountants regarding any indirect tax queries.
- Identify and implement indirect tax optimisation opportunities.
- Evaluate and manage key indirect tax risks, ensuring effective risk management processes.
- Communicate key VAT issues clearly to non-tax specialists and influence necessary process improvements.
- Provide indirect tax advice and recommendations to Operational Process Owners and support Operations Teams.

- Hold a recognised professional qualification with at least two years of post-qualification experience in industry, or a professional services firm.
- Excellent numeric, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
