An excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a supportive HR team, within the Education sector, on an interim basis, initially. Within this generalist, varied role, you will be welcomed into a close-knit team and provided with a full induction and training – offering great opportunity for learning and development.

Your New Role

Within your new role as HR Assistant, you will support the Group HR Manager in the provision of a high-quality, efficient HR service for the organisation. You will operate as the sole HR lead for your allocated schools, receiving support and guidance from the wider team on more complex matters, where required. As the sole HR specialist, you will be responsible for leading the operational HR function, supporting across the full employee lifecycle, providing first line HR advice in line with company policy and employment law, and covering a diverse range of HR-related responsibilities. This includes; recruitment, attendance management, ER casework support (note-taking), HR project work and payroll administration.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and possess the ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships, whilst also understanding and promoting the aims and values of the organisation.

What You Will Need

  • 2 years’ experience working in a HR generalist role.
  • Confident note‑taking skills and experience supporting with low-level ER casework and absence management.
  • Experience of using HR Systems, inputting data and maintaining systems.
  • Knowledge of HR policies/employment law, administrative procedures and regulations.
  • Understanding and practice of the recruitment process.
  • Confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Initiative and ability to work without direct supervision, taking responsibility for tasks, prioritising and scheduling your own work.
  • Proactive individual who shows initiative and takes pride in their role and the quality of their work.
  • Experience of working in HR within an educational environment (desirable).
