We're recruiting on behalf of a major organisation for a Portfolio Manager to play a key role in a growing PMO. You'll provide the insight and governance that enables confident, timely decisions across a large, multi-year capital investment portfolio. If you're passionate about creating a single, trusted view of performance and you enjoy turning complex data into clear, actionable reporting, this could be for you.
What you'll do:
- Own monthly programme reporting, delivering consistent, accurate analysis across cost, schedule, risk and delivery performance.
- Coordinate baseline and year-on-year monitoring of the capital business plan, ensuring alignment to strategy and obligations.
- Lead programme governance for both capex and opex pipelines, supporting approval forums with high-quality information and challenge.
- Provide portfolio visibility of opportunities and risks, highlighting trends and recommending interventions.
- Work closely with finance, planning and delivery teams to maintain one version of the truth for investment assurance.
- Support project managers with guidance on standards, data quality and PMO best practice.
What you'll bring:
- Strong knowledge of programme / project lifecycles and PMO reporting in capital environments.
- Proven experience producing clear executive-level insights from complex financial and non-financial datasets.
- Confidence leading governance activity and contributing to approval forums.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Analytical mindset, high integrity and a continuous improvement approach.
Desirable:
- PMO / Project qualifications (e.g. APM, PMO Practitioner).
- Experience of investment decision-making within large portfolios.
- Background in regulated or complex multi-stakeholder organisations.
