A leading industrial processing and bulk materials handling organisation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join its senior leadership team in Humberside. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven operations professional to take ownership of a large-scale manufacturing and logistics operation, leading teams across production, material handling, maintenance coordination, safety, quality and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, improving efficiencies and ensuring the safe delivery of customer requirements.
Reporting to the Site Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of site operations, ensuring production targets, service levels and safety objectives are achieved. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing operational teams across a complex industrial site
- Driving a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Managing operational performance against budget, KPIs and customer expectations
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Working closely with maintenance, engineering and logistics functions to maximise plant availability
- Leading workforce planning and resource allocation activities
- Supporting capital investment and operational improvement projects
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety legislation
Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Site Manager or similar leadership role is required, along with a background within bulk handling, materials processing, heavy manufacturing, ports, logistics, aggregates, recycling, chemicals, minerals, commodities or a comparable industrial environment. Strong people leadership and team development experience, demonstrable success in driving operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives, sound understanding of health, safety and environmental management within a high-hazard environment, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and budget management and commercial awareness are essential.
