I am pleased to be working exclusively with a trusted client who would like to add a HR Advisor to their team. This role is a varied position, offering exposure to ER casework, day-to-day HR responsibilities and leading on recruitment / onboarding. This role also offers a clear development path to becoming an HR Business Partner in a couple of years in line with the growth of the company, supported by an experienced Head of Learning and Development.
Reporting to the Head of HR, who I have known for many years, this role will work closely with the wider HR team to offer a professional HR advisory service to a busy operational manufacturing site. You will be working with a range of stakeholders across all levels of the business, from employees to the Executive management team, escalating issues and providing feedback to the rest of the HR team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating and updating job descriptions
  • Tracking all recruitment matrixes, including number of vacancies, number of applicants per vacancy, time to fill etc.
  • Identify appropriate methods of sourcing candidates and working with the marketing team to advertise vacancies using the appropriate platforms
  • Continuous improvement of HR and recruitment processes
  • Be responsible for the candidate recruitment experience, gaining feedback and implementing improvements.
  • Responsible for the recruitment authorisation process, including implementing headcount forecasting processes for new financial years.
  • Project work relating to recruitment includes implementing an applicant tracking system.
  • Undertaking pre-employment checks in line with different authorities.
  • Delivering new starter inductions
  • Conducting exit interviews, collating data and providing feedback to the HR team.
  • Administration of the two HRIS (including maintaining organisation charts, processing starters & leavers and updating personal and employment information)
  • Attend all employee relation issue meetings, including disciplinary and grievances.
  • Be the first point of contact for managers on HR advice, escalating to the Head of HR when needed.
  • Working with the HR team on new projects and initiatives.
  • Attend internal and external audits where HR representation is required.
  • Keep up to date with the latest employment law changes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • CIPD qualification – ideally CIPD level 3 or CIPD level 5
  • Previous experience in an HR generalist role – including recruitment / leading some ER casework
  • Experience in Manufacturing is beneficial but not essential – more the ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment on site.
  • An understanding of the legislation surrounding recruitment and HR processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (E.g. Word & Excel).
  • Competent in working both independently and within a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn about company processes and procedures.

Salary and Benefits:

  • £33,000-£38,000 (DOE)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Additional 3 days off over the festive period
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Company pension scheme – 3% employee vs 7% employer
  • Life Cover 3x salary
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Support (time / budget) for training and development
  • Cycle to Work from April 2025
