Job Description

Housing Support Worker

I am proud to be working with a renowned homeless charity committed to transforming lives by helping individuals experiencing homelessness secure meaningful employment. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support, empowering our clients to achieve independence and stability.
Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our clients through their journey from homelessness to employment. You will work closely with individuals to understand their needs, provide guidance, and connect them with resources and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify clients’ needs and barriers to employment.
  • Develop personalised support plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Provide one-on-one support, including job search assistance, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Liaise with local employers and training providers to create employment opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions on job readiness and life skills.
  • Advocate for clients and provide ongoing emotional and practical support.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on clients’ progress.
  • Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a support or social care role, preferably within a homeless or employment-focused setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of clients.
