A reputable Housing Association is seeking an experienced Housing Revenues Officer to join its customer-focused housing team on a part-time temporary basis of 17.5 hours per week for a 4 month period initially. This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with experience in income management, rent arrears recovery, and tenancy sustainment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maximising rental income while supporting tenants to maintain their tenancies and access appropriate financial assistance.
Your new role:
- Managing a caseload of rent accounts and proactively monitoring arrears
- Taking early intervention action to prevent arrears escalating
- Negotiating and monitoring repayment arrangements with tenants
- Providing advice and support on welfare benefits, Universal Credit, and financial inclusion
- Preparing and progressing legal action where appropriate in line with policy and legislation
- Working closely with Housing Officers and external agencies to sustain tenancies
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all income recovery activity is fully documented
- Contributing to the achievement of performance targets and service standards
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a Housing revenue, Income Management, Rent Arrears, or Housing Officer role within a Housing Association or Local Authority
- Strong understanding of rent recovery processes and current welfare reform legislation
- Experience managing complex arrears cases and supporting vulnerable tenants
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
