Your new company
You will be working at HM Prison Hindley for a facilities management and maintenance company. This company ensures that all maintenance projects throughout the prison are completed to a high standard.
Your new role
Your new job will be a temporary role with the view of becoming permanent. You will be carrying out planned and reactive maintenance. Some of the responsibilities will include installing and maintaining heating systems, repairing sanitation systems, fitting appliances and emergency repairs. All tools and materials will be provided, and you could be asked to work 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 weekends, but the majority will be Monday to Friday from 08:00-17:00. Working weekends is paid at overtime rates.
What you’ll need to succeed
4 year minimum apprenticeship/qualification period. You will need to be able to pass an enhanced vetting procedure to be considered for this role.
What you’ll get in return
You will be paid per hour, plus any overtime rates, if you work on weekends. This will be paid on a weekly basis. If you pass your probation period, there is a chance for a permanent position at the end of the contract.
