Due to increased workload and network recovery requirements, the business is expanding its delivery support team.
Your new role as a Highways Maintenance Technician involves:
- Supporting the planning, coordination and safe delivery of reactive and minor planned highways maintenance works across the local network.
- Planning and scheduling highway maintenance activities using a works management system across multiple delivery teams.
- Coordinating reactive maintenance, carriageway and footway works, considering traffic management, hazards and resource availability.
- Reviewing, checking and verifying work instructions prior to issuing to delivery teams.
- Ensuring all works comply with health and safety, quality and environmental requirements and the local highways authority specification.
- Undertaking site-based inspections and audits to verify compliance with company standards.
- Supporting the achievement of contractual KPIs, escalating risks or constraints where performance may be impacted.
- Working collaboratively with the Senior Delivery Technician, Delivery Manager, operational teams and supply chain partners.
- Promoting best practice, continuous improvement and effective communication across the delivery function.
What you'll need to succeed:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- Traffic Management qualification - 12D M7 (Lantra).
- Experience in highways maintenance, network operations or works planning.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
