Quantity Surveyor Inverness / Highlands | Major Construction Project | Tier 1 Contractor Hays is delighted to be working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major construction project in the Highlands.With a strong portfolio of large-scale public sector and infrastructure projects currently underway, alongside an excellent pipeline of future work across the North of Scotland, this is an exciting time to join their established commercial team. This opportunity would particularly suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who feels ready to step up, take greater ownership of their own packages and progress towards becoming a fully autonomous Project QS. Working alongside an experienced commercial and project team, you will take responsibility for your own packages on a significant live construction project.You'll move beyond the traditional Assistant QS remit, gaining greater exposure to procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, cost reporting and commercial decision-making. Procurement of subcontractors, including enquiries, comparisons and recommendations Managing subcontractor accounts through to final account Preparing valuations, cost reports and cost reconciliations Supporting commercial forecasting and project reporting Developing your contractual and commercial knowledge You'll have the support of an experienced commercial team while being encouraged to take increasing ownership and responsibility as your experience develops. You will ideally be an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or recently promoted Quantity Surveyor with construction industry experience. A degree in Quantity Surveying or related commercial discipline Experience within a main contractor, specialist contractor or similar construction environment Exposure to subcontract procurement and commercial administration Ambition to develop into a well-rounded Quantity Surveyor This is an opportunity for someone with a solid foundation at Assistant QS level who is ready to take the next step.
