We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Student Services and SIMS Manage r to join our Student Services team at one of our high schools based in Preston. This is a full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first-line support to assist student queries and managing the SIMS database. Your new role Maintain and manage the SIMS database. Handling student attendance, liaising with the Attendance Manager for students who remain unaccounted for, sending alerts to parents, and monitoring responses. Assist with administration, data extraction, and timetabling changes. Manage the planning and development of student support services. Complete and submit DfE Statutory census returns. Performing administrative duties for student events such as parent’s evenings and career events. Manage the administration for Year 7 or in-year transitions, including creating and distributing new starter packs, liaising with feeder schools, and attending Year 6 transition events. Organise and administer student support services, including student lockers, lunch passes, detentions, lost property, subject enquiries and absence requests. Creating and preparing the academic year and closing, inputting student information, and creating reports and timetables as required. What you’ll need to succeed Experience with SIMS is ideal but not essential. Experience of working in a similar role within an educational setting is essential. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents. Proficiency in data management and extraction.
