Your new roleAs an Economic Development Officer, you will lead and deliver a range of business and enterprise programs to empower businesses in the borough to start, sustain, and grow. You will drive business engagement initiatives, host business networks/events, and manage external suppliers. Your role will involve building relationships with enterprise/business support agencies, managing business enquiries, and supporting the development of a resilient, vibrant, and inclusive local economy. What you’ll need to succeed Relevant degree or professional qualification, or equivalent experience. Project management qualification (desirable). Proven track record in a similar role, with experience in local and/or central government, commercial sector, or relevant policy body/agency. Knowledge of government policy on business and enterprise and the role of local government. Strong negotiation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience of managing multiple projects with conflicting priorities and acting as an advisor to senior managers.
