A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead an end-to-end delivery project of application rationalisation and environment decommissioning across a complex, multi-application landscape.

You will be a self-sufficient delivery leader with strong governance, stakeholder management, and technical programme experience, driving measurable outcomes across cross-functional teams.
Programme Overview
- Manage a portfolio of 35+ applications across the organisation
- Support Cyber-led prioritisation and build on initial assessments
- Define and execute the application disposition strategy, including:
- Migration to strategic platforms
- Integration into enterprise systems
- Decommissioning of legacy or redundant applications
- Deliver full legacy environment decommissioning
- Ensure alignment with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, and business continuity requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle delivery of application rationalisation workstreams (initiation to closure)
- Develop and manage integrated delivery plans, migration/decommissioning roadmaps, and dependencies
- Coordinate across applications, infrastructure, cyber security, and data migration teams
- Establish strong governance, ensuring proactive risk, issue, and dependency management
- Ensure compliance with security, cyber, and change/release controls
- Provide clear, confident reporting to senior stakeholders
- Act as the primary delivery owner, aligning business and technical priorities
- Manage vendors, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to deliver within scope, time, and cost
- Support business cases for migration and decommissioning decisions
Required Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven delivery of end-to-end technology projects across applications, infrastructure, and security domains
- Strong experience in application lifecycle management (migration, upgrade, retirement)
- Experience in legacy system decommissioning or transformation programmes
- Ability to lead multiple concurrent workstreams independently
- Senior stakeholder engagement and communication expertise
- Experience working within structured delivery frameworks (PRINCE2, Agile, or Hybrid)
Desirable:
- Experience in application rationalisation, M&A integration, or divestment environments
- Exposure to Cyber security prioritisation and review processes
- Knowledge of cloud migration and SaaS adoption strategies
