Hays are looking to speak to electricians who are interested in a long-term street lighting contract.

Your new company: You will be joining one of the most recognisable organisations in East Lothian, joining their existing trades team working across various projects. Due to an increase in work load, they are looking to add an electrician to their street lighting division.

Your new role: Your duties may include:

  • Install, maintain, and repair street lights and related electrical components
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in lighting circuits, control gear, and underground cabling
  • Replace lamps, LEDs, photocells, and drivers as part of routine maintenance
  • Carry out electrical testing, inspection, and certification
  • Will involve working at height in some cases
  • Perform fault finding on lighting control systems, timers, and remote monitoring units
  • Ensure safe isolation of electrical supplies before maintenance or repairs

What you’ll need to succeed: You will need to be a qualified Electrician with a valid gold ECS card, graded to electrician or above. Due to the mobile nature of the role, you will be required to have a full UK driving licence and be able to report to the depot for an early start.

What you’ll get in return: You will be offered an ongoing contract at a large organisation, with the potential for a permanent contract to be offered. Hays will pay you weekly PAYE with the option for accrued annual leave.
