Your new company: This leading Software provider are looking to bolster their engineering team with a Mobile Apps Developer hire (we need experience with at least 2 out of 3 from native iOS, native Android and Cross-Platform/Hybrid apps). You will be the first dedicated Mobile Developer in the business so it’s a massive opportunity to shape the future direction of the App Development team. You will be working in their state-of-the-art offices in the heart of Guildford 5 days per week, close to the University and with excellent transport links to London and the surrounding areas in Surrey. You’ll join a well-established business with decades of experience taking them a market leading position. Building on an impressive 2024 they pushed towards 100 headcount and have the investment and product positioning to double this in the next 1-2 years. There is particular investment in the Engineering team as their products are scalable to other sectors so it’s an exciting time to be joining.
Your new role:
Working for a business that is recognised as the dominant player in their industry, you’ll be contributing to the Development of 2 best-in-class existing applications for iOS and Android platforms, as well as leading the charge for exciting new cross platform app developments for the organisation. You’ll work end to end on projects - software coding, interface design, testing, and deployment of mobile applications. The existing apps utilise location services, online maps, compass functionality, and device tilt sensors so it’s important to have transferable skills working on apps with similar complex requirements. The company is committed to supporting your personal growth, helping you deepen your understanding of both software development and the rapidly evolving mobile app landscape. You will work closely with the internal development engineers as well as domain specialists within their niche to further develop their world-leading suite of apps and products.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- You will ideally have a degree in a STEM or Computing discipline.
- We require 5 years dedicated hands-on experience working on a mix of native iOS, Android platforms and cross-platform development.
- Familiarity with the Android Native UI and iOS Objective-C UI components.
- Familiarity with .NET MAUI for cross-platform development.
- Experience using Android Studio IDE (Windows) or Xcode IDE (macOS).
- Qt mobile GUI development skills using Qt, Qt Quick, or QML.
- Experience developing apps on Windows, with Visual Studio utilising Xamarin.
- Experience in 2D/3D graphics, including OpenGL, Shaders, OpenSceneGraph, or Vulkan.
- Knowledge of GIS mapping toolkits or components such as GDAL, ESRI, MapBox, or Google Maps.
- Familiarity with Apple App Store developer processes, including code signing and deployment using TestFlight.
- Experience as a Google Play Store developer, including app publishing (APK, AAB).
- Skills in C/C++ desktop development for Windows using Visual Studio IDE.
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools, including JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Java, bash, batch scripts, and CMake.
