Your new role
As a Management Accountant, you will support the finance team through a period of system change while maintaining robust month-end reporting and business-as-usual activity. This role combines hands-on management accounting with light system testing support as part of the finance transformation programme.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting accurate and timely period-end financial reporting
- Assisting with basic system testing, following defined scripts and logging issues
- Supporting SMEs with system readiness for more complex testing scenarios
- Providing ad-hoc finance support, including transactional processing when required (AP, AR, reconciliations)
- Supporting the wider finance team during peak reporting periods and system activity
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Proven experience in a management accounting role within industry or commerce
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles (accruals, prepayments, reconciliations)
- Experience working within a finance function during a system or ERP change (highly desirable)
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
- Confidence using finance systems (experience clearly listed on CV advantageous)
- A methodical approach with high attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
