We are seeking an experienced Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) professional to support operational teams in driving safety excellence across complex shipbuilding activities. This role will focus on providing expert advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding a proactive safety culture during nightshift operations.
Location: On-site (Govan)
Daily Rate: 34.22 PAYE / hour + O.T available
Contract Length: 12 months
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide competent SHE advice and guidance to line managers and operational teams
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of SHE management systems (ISO45001 / ISO14001)
- Lead incident investigations and ensure timely, accurate reporting in line with regulatory requirements
- Monitor and analyse SHE performance, including audits, KPIs, and compliance metrics
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and culture
- Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to embed SHE considerations into decision-making
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal SHE frameworks across site operations
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a SHE / Health & Safety role
- Relevant qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 5/6, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of SHE regulations, standards, and management systems
- Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels
- Experience in incident investigation, auditing, and compliance assurance
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Additional Information:
- Working Hours: Monday Night to Thursday Night, 9:30pm - 7:00am (Nightshift)
- Interview Process: 1-2 stage virtual interviews with hiring managers
- Security Requirement: BPSS clearance required
