The firm has built a strong reputation for providing high-quality, commercially focused tax advice and works with an interesting and varied client base across Scotland and the wider UK.This is a particularly attractive opportunity for someone who enjoys the advisory side of indirect tax and wants to join a business where they can have genuine influence.
You'll work closely with experienced senior colleagues while having the autonomy to develop client relationships, identify opportunities and play an important role in the continued growth of the indirect tax offering.
Your new roleAs Indirect Tax Senior Manager, you'll take a lead role in delivering VAT and wider indirect tax advice to a diverse portfolio of clients. Rather than being focused purely on compliance, this is an opportunity to get involved in interesting, complex advisory work, helping clients navigate indirect tax issues and identify practical solutions.
You'll build strong relationships with clients, become a trusted adviser and lead projects from initial conversations through to delivery. You'll also have the opportunity to develop new and existing client relationships, identify additional areas where the team can support them and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
At Senior Manager level, you'll be encouraged to bring your own ideas and experience to the role. Whether your longer-term aspirations are around building a bigger portfolio, developing a specialist area or progressing further within the firm, there is plenty of scope to make the position your own.
What you'll need to succeedYou'll be an experienced indirect tax professional with strong VAT knowledge gained within practice, consultancy, industry or HMRC. You may already be operating at Senior Manager level, or you could be an experienced Manager ready to take the next step in your career.
Just as importantly, you'll enjoy working directly with clients and be comfortable taking ownership of relationships and advisory projects. You'll be commercially minded, able to explain complex tax matters clearly and interested in playing a wider role in developing both the client base and the indirect tax offering.
Relevant tax or accountancy qualifications would be advantageous, although the firm is equally interested in strong practical indirect tax experience.
What you'll get in returnThis is an opportunity to join an ambitious and growing tax business where you can have genuine visibility and influence. You'll have access to interesting advisory work, senior-level client relationships and experienced tax professionals, without feeling like a small part of a much larger structure.
There is real scope to shape your role as the team continues to grow, with the opportunity to build your profile in the Scottish market and develop your career beyond Senior Manager. You'll also benefit from a supportive, collaborative environment and a role based in Glasgow with flexibility around how you work.
