Your new company is partnering with a quickly-growing national firm of chartered accountants to hire for the position of Corporate Tax Assistant Manager/Manager. The firm provides services such as accountancy, business advisory, audit, corporate finance, and taxation. Your new role includes:

  • Overseeing client portfolios to ensure timely preparation and submission of Corporate Tax Returns and Computations to HMRC.
  • Advising clients on their tax liabilities and payment due dates.
  • Ensuring all claims and elections are submitted within the required time limits.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce tax liabilities and collaborating with Partners and Directors to implement these strategies.
  • Managing Work in Progress (WIP) for client portfolios, ensuring fees are raised and issued upon work completion.
  • Maintaining effective time management to achieve good recovery rates and ensure time is appropriately charged to clients.
  • Meeting with prospective clients to discuss their tax affairs and provide guidance.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Qualified to ICAS / CTA or an equivalent level.
  • Ability to apply technical skills to provide client solutions, understanding the tax system, and being aware of due dates for annual tax returns, computations, and tax payments.
  • Proactively identifying legislative changes and understanding their impact on the client base.
  • Ensuring the application of the firm's technical standards in all work.
  • Regularly reviewing colleagues' work for technical accuracy.
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through appropriate training.
  • Seeking advice when necessary to minimise risk.
