A leading UK environmental consultancy is expanding its specialist Ecohydrology division. The organisation delivers high impact, nature positive projects across water environments, working at the forefront of sustainable land and water management.

As an Ecologist within the Ecohydrology team, you will support the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of water-focused environmental projects. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing ecological input and fieldwork across freshwater, wetland and ecohydrology programmes.
  • Designing and implementing habitat creation, enhancement and restoration schemes.
  • Conducting hydrological investigations and ecological surveys.
  • Preparing technical reports, including river morphology assessments and BNG metrics.
  • Engaging with landowners, local authorities, conservation bodies and project stakeholders.
  • Using GIS, hydrology and modelling tools to assess habitats and water systems.

What you’ll need to succeed

Essential:

  • Applied experience in freshwater/wetland ecology and habitat restoration.
  • Knowledge of hydrology, aquatic species, and ecological survey methods.
  • Strong written communication and technical reporting skills.
  • Understanding of environmental policy and legislation.

Desirable:

  • Aquatic species monitoring.
  • Water quality assessments.
  • Biodiversity Net Gain experience.
