About the company
I am recruiting a Front End Developer/Designer (preferably with Umbraco CMS skills) for a specialist leisure/recreational activity business. This hybrid role involves working 2 days per week at their Southampton head office. You will work with Umbraco CMS for their new corporate website launching in June. Experience with this or similar CMS platforms like Drupal or WordPress is preferred. The company is one of the UK's longest-established leisure organizations with a 150-year history and is home to a globally successful sports team.
Role responsibilities
- Manage all front-end aspects, combining development and design to deliver a clean, on-brand user experience.
- Responsibilities include design support, page building, content editing, UI/UX best practices, accessibility enhancements, customer journey optimization, performance improvements, and documentation for front-end processes.
- You will report to the Head of Digital, lead web projects and digital campaigns, and manage a Junior Designer initially.
- You will be a key driver of web best practices for over 100k monthly visitors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for stakeholder engagement, both internally and with third-party agencies.
- There is potential for progression towards a Lead role and management responsibilities.
Requirements
- Lead the implementation of the new Umbraco Front End for the flagship website.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in Front End Development/Design, with preferably experience in Umbraco or similar CMS platforms.
