Your new company are one of the UK’s largest FMCG manufacturers, which originally started in County Tyrone 80 years ago, and has now become a large, billion-pound business employing over 10,000 people.
Your new role
As the Food Safety and Quality Manager, you will manage the technical and quality processes within the production environment to ensure compliance with customer and legal requirements, company objectives, and key performance indicators. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and continuously improving the HACCP-based Quality Management System, coordinating the HACCP team, supporting new product development, and ensuring high standards of factory cleaning and hygiene. You will also provide technical guidance and training to other departments, manage corrective actions, and liaise with customers and statutory bodies during audits and visits.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need experience in a similar FMCG food industry, including auditing experience. Essential skills include excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organisational skills, as well as team leadership qualities and personal development skills. You should be self-motivated, well-organised, and assertive, with a logical approach to problem-solving and decision-making. A relevant third-level qualification and a working knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP, food legislation, and food hygiene are required. Desirable qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in Applied HACCP Principles and an Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
