Are you an experienced Fluid Systems Engineer eager to work on cutting-edge industrial gas turbine technology? We’re seeking a Principal Applications Engineer to lead system upgrades, enhance product performance, and drive innovation in fluid systems for auxiliary gas turbine equipment.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage obsolescence challenges, and ensure system reliability and compliance. If you have a passion for engineering excellence and thrive in complex technical environments, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- System Upgrades & Obsolescence Management: Modernise auxiliary equipment to maintain compliance and enhance reliability.
- Fluid Systems Design & Optimisation: Work with piping, pumps, valves, and instrumentation for fluid systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with mechanical, controls, and electrical engineers, suppliers, and customers to develop integrated solutions.
- Technical Documentation: Create detailed purchase specifications, design calculations, P&IDs, and reports.
- Product Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, performance, and reliability.
- Sales & Customer Support: Provide technical recommendations to support sales teams and future system upgrades.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong engineering background: Including lifting structures, pipework, and welding principles.
- Proven experience: In fluid systems for industrial applications.
- Deep understanding: Of pumps, valves, actuators, piping, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with key industry standards: (ISO 21789, SIL, PED, ATEX).
- Proficiency in: PLM, 2D CAD.
- Leadership and project management skills: With a passion for mentoring engineers.
Desirable: Experience with auxiliary systems (lubrication, fuel, cooling, hydraulics) and a proactive, innovative mindset.
