Fire Engineer based in Manchester City Centre – Hybrid working – Excellent progression

Their offices are based in Manchester’s city centre and offer free refreshments, breakfast, and beers in the afternoon. There are multiple office spaces in the building as well as meeting rooms and open-plan meeting areas. They are located next to a major tram stop and a short walk from major rail stations.
There is no expectation for employees to attend the office, however many of the team do.
Your new role
In your new role, you will work across a multitude of different sectors completing site inspections and surveys using your extensive industry knowledge. The variety of jobs will know no bounds. One day you could be on site at a hospital, the next, a new office complex using a proprietary software application to build out your inspection report. You will work in a range of different industries, including health, education, office workspace and residential, across both the public and private sectors.
As a fire engineer within this company, you will be working closely with the wider team and, depending on your experience, you will be working as either engineer, Engineer (advanced), Senior, Principal, or Associate. This will therefore change your day-to-day activities and involvement with the projects, including CFD models and behavioural analysis.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will need a degree in Construction/Surveying or Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience in the construction industry (e.g., building control or quality assurance) with experience in inspection and or verification of passive fire protection. However, there is consideration for graduates+2 to apply should they be able to show a keen interest in passive fire protection and want a career in this field of work. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and surveying software.
You will need to be able to establish and develop good working relationships with both professionals and clients through good written and verbal communication. You will need to be able to work with minimal supervision and prioritise your workload.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and a willingness to travel/stay away from home from time to time.
