Your New Company: An established Building Services Design Consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality Mechanical, Electrical and Environmental Engineering solutions across the UK and Ireland. The consultancy provides MEP design, BIM coordination, and 3D modelling services across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning commercial, education, healthcare, residential, industrial and public sector developments.
Your New Role: Based in Edinburgh, you'll work across a hybrid model incorporating office, home, and site-based working, supporting projects throughout Scotland and the North of England. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical building services designs while also contributing to client development, project leadership, and the strategic growth of the Edinburgh operation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing mechanical engineering solutions from concept through to project completion
- Leading HVAC and public health design across a range of projects
- Producing design calculations, specifications, schedules, reports, and technical documentation
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
- Identifying and supporting new business opportunities across Scotland and the North of England
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers as the team expands
- Coordinating with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines
- Ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice

What You'll Need To Succeed: Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. Proven experience within a Building Services or MEP Consultancy environment. Strong HVAC and public health design experience. Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standards. Experience using industry-standard software such as Revit, IES or similar. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.
