Long-Term Temporary Opportunity with Potential to Become Permanent Hays are recruiting for an experienced Plumber / Heating Engineer to join a well-established organisation in Cambridge.

This is a long-term temporary position offering stable work, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Working as part of a maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of plumbing and heating maintenance duties across a large estate and associated properties within the local area.

Key Responsibilities Installation, servicing and repair of water services, heating systems, pumps, valves and associated pipework.

Maintenance and repair of domestic plumbing systems, including taps, toilets, showers, cisterns, hot and cold water storage tanks.

Inspection, repair and maintenance of rainwater goods, drainage systems, gutters and downpipes.

Responding to reactive maintenance requests and completing planned maintenance tasks.

Updating maintenance records and job completion details using an online reporting system.

Liaising with other maintenance trades to support refurbishment and improvement projects.

Responding to urgent maintenance issues during working hours.

Participating in an emergency call-out rota where required.

Providing general support to the wider maintenance team.

Requirements Essential NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent.

Full UK driving licence.

Experience installing, maintaining and repairing domestic plumbing and heating systems.

Good understanding of health and safety within a maintenance environment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Basic IT skills, including email and Microsoft Office.

Desirable NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating.

Gas Safe qualifications (CCN1 and CENWAT).

Experience working on domestic gas boilers and heating appliances.

Asbestos Awareness training.

Water Hygiene and Legionella awareness.
