Hays HR are delighted to be partnering with a leading scientific organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor for a 6-month temporary assignment via Hays, with a base in Farnham, Surrey which will need visiting a few times per month / hybrid / home working for other activities.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative HR team, providing hands-on support across a broad range of employee relations and occupational health activities.
Working closely with HR Business Partners and managers across multiple sites, you'll play a key role in delivering practical, solutions-focused HR Advisory support for ER Case work.
Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Casework
- Support & coaching to managers with a range of employee relations matters, including: Sickness absence Performance and capability Disciplinary cases Grievances Long term absence/sickness/muscular skeletal Probation-related concerns
- Prepare case documentation, correspondence and meeting paperwork.
- Maintain accurate case records and monitor agreed actions.
- Provide practical guidance on HR policies and procedures.
Occupational Health & Employee Wellbeing
• Manage Occupational Health referrals from start to finish.
- Prepare referral documentation and management questions.
- Review Occupational Health reports and support managers with rmendations.
- Advise on workplace adjustments and return-to-work plans.
- Support both short and long-term absence management processes.
- Coordinate DSE assessments and follow up on rmendations.
HR Advisory Support
• Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Interpret and apply HR policies to individual circumstances.
- Support queries relating to: Absence management Flexible working Family leave Probation Performance management Occupational Health Reasonable adjustments
About You We are seeking an established and confident HR professional who can quickly integrate into the team and manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
You should have
- Previous experience working at HR Advisor level.
- Strong employee relations casework experience.
- Practical experience managing Occupational Health referrals and reports.
- Good understanding of absence management and workplace adjustments.
- Experience supporting managers with a broad range of HR issues.
- Knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Excellentmunication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using HR systems and ideally Occupational Health portals.
- What's on Offer?
• 6-month temporary contract via Hays - - Hybrid working on a Farnham office base which you will be expected to visit a couple of times per month, but generally working from home/remote - preference for candidates living in the South/South East
