This housing association is looking for an experienced Senior Property Surveyor to join a busy and evolving property function, taking the lead on complex repairs and building issues while managing a small team of surveyors.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be at the centre of resolving challenging defects, improving service delivery, and ensuring homes remain safe, compliant, and well maintained. You'll balance technical expertise with leadership, supporting your team while driving high standards across the service.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a small team of surveyors, providing technical oversight and support
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex property issues including damp & mould, structural defects, and specialist repairs
  • Managing a varied caseload alongside your team, covering reactive issues and ad hoc planned works
  • Applying strong knowledge of building pathology and HHSRS to assess risk and categorise hazards
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards and maintaining accurate system records
  • Providing expert advice and post-inspection guidance to ensure consistency of delivery
  • Contributing to service improvements and supporting wider property initiatives
  • Reviewing and advising on resident improvement requests to protect long-term asset value
  • Working collaboratively across teams to improve outcomes for residents

What You'll Bring

  • Experience managing or mentoring a team within a property or surveying environment
  • Strong technical knowledge across repairs, maintenance, and housing construction
  • Proven ability to handle complex cases including damp & mould and major defects
  • Good understanding of HHSRS and building safety requirements
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both colleagues and residents
  • A proactive approach - focused on delivering solutions efficiently and to a high standard
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
