As a Senior or Principal Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering and leading environmental consultancy projects across the Midlands, with a flexible, remote-based working model and occasional site/client visits. The role involves delivering high-quality environmental compliance and sustainability services, including audits, risk assessments, and permit applications.
You will lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard, while coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders. You will also contribute to delivering training, workshops, and ongoing support to clients, helping them build robust environmental management systems and meet best practice standards.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within environmental consultancy or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation, ISO standards, and sustainability principles
- Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering consultancy projects
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of consultancy performance
- The ability to balance technical delivery with commercial outcomes
- Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- The ability to build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for growth
