Your New Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, your role will be pivotal in designing electrical control systems for a variety of industries. You will be responsible for producing electrical schematics, block cable diagrams, and BOM’s. You will liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions to their problems. You will work on your own initiative and as part of a team to complete projects on time and to a high standard. You will also assist with other departments such as production, site installation, sales, and technical support as and when required.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to be educated to HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar design or project management role. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. A positive attitude, good IT skills, and a willingness to develop and learn new skills with on and off the job training are essential. Experience of a range of PLC’s, HMI’s, and Variable Speed Drives is required. Desirable criteria include experience with Eplan electrical schematic software, experience with the development of PLC and HMI software, preferably with Siemens, Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi, 2-3 years of project management experience, and a good understanding of electrical standards.
