You will be joining a leading insurance business based in London, working within an established and collaborative finance function. The organisation offers a fast-paced, professional environment and is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to provide additional support to the team on a temporary basis. The role offers hybrid working, giving you flexibility between home and the London office.
Your new role
As a Temporary Management Accountant, you will support the wider finance team with the preparation of monthly management accounts, month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments. You will assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, while providing clear financial information to key stakeholders across the business. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly get up to speed and add value within a busy insurance finance environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Provide clear commentary on financial performance and key variances.
Work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial information and support.
Assist with audit queries and ensure financial controls are maintained.
Support the wider finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve and streamline existing finance processes.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Previous experience working as a Management Accountant, ideally within the insurance or financial services sector
Strong experience across month-end reporting, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Part-qualified status, or equivalent experience
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
