Your new role includes:
- Managing design projects and developing new products for the company.
- Recommending appropriate timing for introduction to the market.
- Co-ordinating with colleagues to support the sales team with technical specifications, site visits, and technical advice throughout the process.
- Meeting regularly with the Engineering Manager and Design Team to ensure effective communication of information relative to potential business improvement initiatives.
- Producing project status reports and other information as required by the Management Team.
- Participating in continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Co-ordinating with other departments relative to Engineering Design.
- Following all Company processes relating to equipment design.
- Contributing to the company's continuous improvement initiatives.
- Checking and approving drawings using design processes, procedures, and checklists.
- Resolving design quality issues as they arise and providing detailed solutions.
- Developing and training Design Engineers in design office processes and procedures.
- Upholding the Core Values of the company and working to achieve the wider organisational objectives.
- Achieving high standards of personal performance through meeting agreed personal targets and undertaking training as required.
- Fulfilling legal Health and Safety duties placed on employees.
- Complying with all the company's policies and procedures.
- Maintaining high standards of personal accountability.
- Performing any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Good standard of education (to include English and Maths) with 5 years design experience gained in a manufacturing environment/quarry and recycling equipment or a degree in an Engineering discipline with 4 years design experience.
- Experience with CAD design.
- Product Development experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Solid Works or Pro/Engineer experience.
- Awareness of relevant safety standards.
- Manufacturing process awareness.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent analytical, innovative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Solution focused, with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work un-supervised and as part of a team.
- IT literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Current driving licence and vehicle available for business use.
