Senior Mechanical Design Engineer needed to lead design projects from concept to production within a global engineering and manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Leading mechanical design activities for new and existing products
- Producing detailed 3D models, assemblies and engineering drawings
- Supporting product development, validation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conducting design calculations and engineering analysis
- Collaborating with manufacturing, procurement and project teams to ensure efficient product delivery
- Managing technical aspects of projects and providing mentorship to junior engineers
- Ensuring designs meet relevant industry standards, customer requirements and quality expectations
- Supporting prototype development, testing and product implementation
Key requirements
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Significant experience in a mechanical design engineering environment
- Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, CATIA or similar)
- Experience designing fabricated, mechanical, electro-mechanical or complex engineered products
- Strong problem-solving and project management abilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams would be advantageous
