Your new role
Southend-on-Sea City Council is looking for reliable, customer-focused individuals to join our Integrated Equipment Service as a Driver / Equipment Fitter. This is a unique opportunity to start or develop a career in Adult Social Care, supporting local residents to live safely and independently in their own homes.
About the role
As part of our busy equipment service team, you will:
- Deliver and install essential equipment (e.g. beds, hoists, seating)
- Support people recently discharged from hospital or needing care support
- Work across the Southend area in homes and community settings
- Interact with service users, carers and professionals in a respectful and supportive way
- Ensure equipment is fitted safely and correctly
This is a hands-on, physical role where no two days are the same.
What you'll need to succeed

- Practical and problem-solving - confident using tools or working hands-on

- Hold a full UK driving licence

- Be willing to undertake training in equipment fitting and safe working
