Domestic Abuse Advisor – Ongoing temp

We are seeking a Domestic Abuse Advisor on behalf of a well-established housing association in the Northwest, on an ongoing, temporary contract.
This is a full-time, work from home position but will need to be able to attend the Head Office in Warrington where required. You will be working 9am to 5pm.

Your new role

  • Handling inbound calls from customers experiencing domestic abuse
  • Completing DASH Risk Assessments and MARAC/Social Care referrals
  • Identifying and arranging any urgent action needed to keep the customer safe
  • Working with Social Care, Police, IDVAs and other external agencies to reduce risk to customers and offer long term support
  • Ensuring the customer feels fully supported, safe and heard when making disclosures

What you’ll need to succeed

  • In depth experience of supporting victim/survivors of domestic abuse and a strong understanding of domestic abuse in all its forms
  • Excellent understanding of domestic abuse legislation and legal remedies & interventions are available to safeguard customers
  • Understanding of trauma and ability to take a trauma informed approach
  • Sensitivity, empathy, understanding and listening skills
  • Experience and understanding of DASH Risk Assessments and MARACs
  • Resilience, confidence and persistence
