Initial 3-Month Contract Opportunity to go Permanent

Hays are currently working with a well-established subcontractor delivering technical construction packages. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team on an initial 3-month freelance contract, with a strong opportunity to move into a permanent position should this suit your longer-term career plans.

This role is office based near Thetford, with hybrid working available once you are fully up to speed and would suit a QS with proven experience operating within a specialist subcontractor environment.

Your New Role

You will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of live projects, managing specialist packages from a commercial perspective. Duties will include:

  • Commercial management of specialist subcontractor works
  • Preparation, submission and agreement of valuations
  • Management of variations and change control
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and final accounts
  • Liaising closely with project teams, main contractors and external stakeholders
  • Supporting commercial decision-making and risk management on technically detailed projects
