Director of Quantity Surveying
Your new company
I am currently working with a professional consultancy who are looking for an industry leader to help cement their Quantity Surveying services in the business. Due to continued growth and project wins they are seeking someone to head up the Quantity Surveying division in the business. The business has been operating for over 10+ years and secured a large amount of works within Cadding Remediation across London moving forward.
Your new role
- Experience working on: Cladding Remediation Solution, PAS 9980 and EWS1 Solution, Fire Compliance Solution, both private and public sector
- Setting up smart ways of working
- Assisting on servicing instructions which are typically split about 50:50 between pre and post contract project work.
- Assist in the preparation of feasibility cost plans and pricing exercises.
- Attending site to view project progress and assist in preparation of cost reports and valuations.
- Assist in the preparation of pricing documents for tender purposes and support on administering the tender process.
- Attend meetings with other design team members and support senior colleagues in the provision of cost advice.
- Assist in preparing benchmarking studies and cost appraisals of alternative construction proposals.
- General cost management support on projects ranging from £500k to £10m.
- Attend proposed sites to assess abnormal cost impacts and restrictions and support on preparation of cost plans.
- Meet target KPIs on work in progress (WIP) management including hours into work in progress (HIW).
- Business Development and Client Care awareness.
- Adherence to Health & Safety procedures.
- Responsibility for own continuous professional learning.

What you’ll need to succeed
- Degree or MSc in Quantity Surveying
- Professional Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
- 10+ years PQE experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
- Experience of AutoCAD an advantage, though not essential
- Clean driving licence
- Required to have the ability to work within a team and on own initiative
- Must be enthusiastic proactive and self-motivated
- Must have strong verbal and numerical skills and good written skills
