We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Estates to join our team and lead the strategic management of our estates and facilities.

Role Overview:
As the Director of Estates, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the Trust’s estates of 5 academies (all within 3 miles of each other). You will ensure that all properties are maintained to the highest standards of safety, security, and functionality. You will lead on capital projects, oversee maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills and a commitment to the welfare of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement robust estates management strategies across the Trust.
  2. Lead on capital estates and building projects, including procurement, planning, and contractor management.
  3. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and asbestos management.
  4. Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of all academy properties.
  5. Manage budgets and financial aspects of estates projects.
  6. Develop and maintain records for audit, asset management, and compliance purposes.
  7. Provide strategic leadership and support to academy estates staff.

Person Specification:

  1. Qualifications:
    Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field. Project Management Qualification and NEBOSH Diploma in Health or Safety are desirable.
  2. Experience:
    Substantial experience in strategic estates management, including leading projects and managing contractors. Experience in an educational setting is advantageous.
  3. Skills:
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, strategic problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in IT and data management.
  4. Attributes:
    Commitment to high standards, best value, and continuous improvement. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
