Development Engineer

Your new role as a Development Engineer will involve designing and developing new products and processes, leading product and process improvement initiatives, and promoting a culture of efficiency and waste elimination. You will be responsible for designing equipment and tooling, conducting performance testing, and maintaining organised records. Additionally, you will build insights into product performance to optimise future designs, develop a strong understanding of plastics properties and processing, and assist with preparing documentation for manufacturing, quality, product approvals, and tenders. You will liaise with other site functions to resolve engineering issues related to safety, environmental impact, and product quality, and provide technical support to both internal and external customers. Your role will also involve preparing and maintaining development drawings and project records, liaising with customers regarding opportunities and requirements, participating in site visits related to the deployment of the company’s products, and working closely with all departments within the company.What you’ll need to succeed
What you’ll need to succeed is a graduate level qualification in Engineering, Polymer Technology, or a similar discipline. You should have a strong engineering understanding, sound technical and commercial judgement, and a hands-on, results-oriented, methodical approach. An innovative attitude, the ability to analyse problems and identify opportunities, and excellent communication skills at all levels inside and outside the organisation are essential. You must be able to work autonomously and on your own initiative, with the drive and determination to achieve results. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, CAD proficiency, and solid modelling experience are also required. Experience in the plastics industry (e.g., extrusion, injection moulding), experience with ERP systems, the ability to converse in other European languages, and knowledge of underground utility access systems (ducting, chambers) are desirable.What you’ll get in return
