Your new company Hays Engineering are working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing organisation based in County Down to recruit a Design Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative business with a strong presence in the Agricultural and Construction sectors. Your new role As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of new and existing products, contributing to innovative engineering solutions and continuous product improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing machinery using SolidWorks
  • Collaborating with production teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Engaging with customers to address design-related queries and improvements
  • Producing detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles
  • Supporting prototype testing and implementing design enhancements
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both internal and customer-facing
